Victoria Beckham is said to have been left 'shocked and upset' at the death of her ex-boyfriend Corey Haim.
The singer-turned-fashion designer briefly dated the 'Lost Boys’ star in 1995, and was saddened to receive news of his shock death yesterday (10.03.10) of a suspected prescription drug overdose.
A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Victoria hadn't had any contact with Corey for years but she was still shocked to learn of his death in such circumstances."
The overdose – which happened at the Los Angeles flat Corey was sharing with his mother while he helped her battle breast cancer – is thought to have been an accident, with four bottles of prescription drugs reportedly found near the spot Corey died.
The actor had previously openly admitted addiction to crack cocaine and prescription drugs.
Meanwhile Corey’s friend and co-star in 'Lost Boys’, Corey Feldman, was stunned by the news because he saw his pal just days ago and he was upbeat.
He said: 'He was fine. He was actually giving me some advice about something I was very upset about. He was being very positive."
Feldman also said that while he was touched by the outpouring of sentiment that has followed his friend's death, he is also upset that more people didn’t support him while he was alive.
Speaking on US TV show 'Larry King Live’ he said: 'Where were all these people the last 10 years?
Where were all these people to lend a handout, to reach out to him and say, 'You're a legend, you're an amazingly talented wonderful person who's never really gone out of his way to hurt anyone, other than himself?’
"In this entertainment industry, in Hollywood, we build people up as children, we put them on pedestals, and then, when we decide they're not marketable anymore, we walk away from them."

The singer-and-actress - who got engaged to hockey player Mike Comrie last month - has already started planning her nuptials and is in complete control of all the preparations. Hilary - who has been dating Mike for two years - said: \"We want to keep it small. Mike\'s like, \'Whatever you want!\'\" The star says she is planning a \"traditional\" ceremony and is looking forward to choosing her dress, though she fears looking like \"a big cupcake\". She explained: \"I want it to be traditional. I don\'t want it to be too big and overwhelming, because I\'m so small. A big dress would make me look like a big cupcake!\" Mike proposed to Hilary during a romantic break in Hawaii with a $1 million 12 carat diamond ring and although the 23-year-old star was delighted by the surprise, she was disappointed when paparazzi photographs of their trip appeared on the internet. Hilary - who was snapped photographing her engagement ring on her mobile phone - told website Hollywood Life: \"It was awful. We had no idea they were there; it was weird. \"I hated that. I was taking a picture of my ring and sending it to my mom!\" Hilary\'s sister Haylie Duff recently revealed the 29-year-old sportsman\'s proposal came as a complete shock to her sibling. She said: \"She was completely surprised. I don\'t think that happens all the time. I think most of the time people figure it out or have some idea that it\'s going to happen, and I think it\'s great he was able to do a surprise like that for her.\" Although exact details of the proposal remain secret, the 29-year-old sportsman\'s gesture was \"very romantic\". Haylie added: \"I adore him. He\'s wonderful... very romantic.\"
HTML clipboardWorried that the 27-year-old man making $70,000 as profiled on an online
dating service isn't so young or taking home that much cash?
Chances are he's telling the truth if the site is geared toward long-term
relationships.
But if he's lying, he's probably a people pleaser -- the type of person who'd
try to put himself in the best light even if you'd found him offline first,
according to a University of Kansas researcher.
In professor Jeffrey Hall's survey of 5,020 men and women who belonged to an
undisclosed Internet dating site, most respondents indicated they wouldn't lie.
But those saying they were most likely to lie generally gave answers to other
questions indicating they were people pleasers, or "high self-monitors."
Such people have an acute sense of what others like and control their own
behavior accordingly for social ends. Because they want to be liked and fit in,
these people, whether online or off, may lie about weight, age, income and
interests, Hall said.
"The type of people who misrepresented themselves online is the same type of
people who do so face-to-face," Hall, an assistant professor of communication
studies and the study's lead author, said by phone Thursday.
In the study, published in the February issue of the Journal of Social and
Personal Relationships, respondents were asked to rate on a 10-point scale the
likelihood that they would misrepresent their education, income, relationship
goals, personal interests, weight and age to a potential date online. An answer
of 1 indicated "not at all likely;" a 10 indicated "very likely."
"On average, answers were close to around 2 for the most part," Hall said.
Men indicated they were more likely than women to lie in every category
except weight, according to the study.
However, the differences between men and women were small, Hall said. For
example, men led women 2.01 to 1.83 when it came to lying about education and
income. Women led men 3.24 to 2.37 in lying about weight.
The strongest predictor of lying wasn't gender, but high self-monitoring,
Hall said.
"Personality makes much more of a difference in how much people lie," he said.
Hall wouldn't name the dating site to which the respondents belonged, but he
said that people interested in long-term relationships "tend to be the users
that are attracted to this site" and that the site didn't commission the study.
Hall said it added to other research showing that -- particularly for people
looking for long-term relationships -- the amount of lying is usually small,
because people want an anticipated face-to-face meeting to go well.
"Online daters shouldn't be concerned that most people are presenting a false
impression of themselves," Hall said in a news release before Thursday's phone
interview. "What influences face-to-face dating influences the online world, too."
The study also was authored by professors Namkee Park of
the University of Oklahoma, Hayeon Song of the University of Wisconsin at
Milwaukee and Michael Cody of the University of Southern California.
Apple's eagerly anticipated iPad will be available in the United States on April 3, the company said Friday. Wi-Fi
models of the tablet-style computer will go on sale that Saturday,
while ones with Wi-Fi and 3G networks will be released later in the
month. Customers can start pre-ordering the iPad on Apple's online store on March 12. "iPad
is something completely new," Apple CEO Steve Jobs said in a Friday
post on the company's Web site. "We're excited for customers to get
their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with
their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than
ever before." Unveiled on January 27, the iPad is designed to act as a sort of "missing link" between the smartphone and the laptop computer. It has a nearly 10-inch screen, runs existing apps from the Apple
apps store and is available in 16-gigabyte, 32-gigabyte and 64-gigabyte
versions. It's a half-inch thick and weighs a pound-and-a-half. Prices
start at $499 for the 16-gigabyte version, $599 for the 32-gig version
and $699 for the 64, Jobs said at the company's glitzy announcement in
San Francisco, California. The iPad will be released in late
April in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain,
Switzerland and the UK, Apple said in the post on its site. Prices in those countries will be announced in April and iPad will ship in additional countries later this year.
Los Angeles, California -- Sandra Bullock, a favorite to win the best actress Oscar on Sunday, took home the worst actress Razzie award Saturday night. "Thank you for ruining my career with a very bad decision," Bullock said as she took the stage of a small Hollywood theater to accept the Golden Raspberry statue. Bullock's "dis-honor" was for her performance in box office bomb "All About Steve," which was filmed in 2007 but was released last September. She also picked up a worst screen couple Razzie with "All About Steve" co-star Bradley Cooper. Her best actress Oscar nomination is for her role in "The Blind Side," a critical success released in November. Actors rarely attend the Razzies awards show, a "shorter parody" of the Oscars, but Bullock had promised to be there if she won. "I think that this is an extraordinary award, and I didn't realize that in Hollywood that all you had to do was say you'll show up and then you'd get it," she said. "If I had known that, I would have said I was appearing at the Oscars a long time ago." Bullock suggested the Razzie voters, made up of nearly 700 movie fans and journalists, made an uninformed decision. "Something tells me you all didn't really watch the film, because I wouldn't be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say," she said.Bullock brought with her a cart loaded with hundreds of "All About Steve" DVDs for the audience."This is the deal I'm going to make you," she said. "Seeing how when I said I would show up, I miraculously won. I will show up next year if you promise to watch the movie -- and I mean really watch it -- and really consider if it was really and truly the worst performance. If you're willing to watch it and then I will come back next year, I will give back the Razzie." Bullock then pulled out the film's shooting script in an effort to prove her acting was not that bad."I'm willing to go through page by page of my dialogue, so we're going to be here for a while," she said. "I will read the line the way I read it in the film, then I want anyone who wants to give me a line reading of how I could have done better."Bullock's appearance followed a short tradition started by actress Halle Berry, who personally accepted her worst actress Razzie in 2005 for "Catwoman," four years after she won a best actress Oscar for "Monster's Ball." "She had her Oscar in one hand and her Razzie in the other," Razzie founder John Wilson said. Berry's speech was a parody of her Academy Award acceptance and "she was quite funny," Wilson said. "She said that her mother had taught her that if you cannot accept valid criticism, you also, by the same token, are not entitled to bask in the glory when you get the good reviews," he said. The appearance and her sense of humor earned Berry a lot of respect, he said.Box office smash "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was a big winner, earning three Razzies, including worst picture and worst screenplay. Michael Bay was selected worst director for what the Razzies described as his "overlong, over-loud, underwhelming toy-based sequel." The three Jonas Brothers, a Disney boy band, were jointly awarded the worst actor Razzie for playing themselves in "Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience." Another musician connected to Disney, Billy Ray Cyrus, was named worst supporting actor for "riding his daughter's coattails and playing her dad" in "Hannah Montana: The Movie." Sienna Miller earned the worst supporting actress Razzie for her role as the Baroness in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra." The worst remake/sequel Razzie was given to "Land of the Lost," which the Razzies presenter said lost up to $100 million for producers. The 30th annual Razzie Awards also marked the end of a decade with recognition of the worst of the past 10 years. John Travolta's "Battlefield Earth" was named worst picture of the decade "by a landslide." Eddie Murphy was named worst actor of the decade, based on his roles in "Adventures of Pluto Nash," "I Spy," "Imagine That," "Meet Dave," "Norbitt" and "Showtime." The worst actress of the decade Razzie went to Paris Hilton, star of "The Hottie and the Nottie," "House of Wax" and "Repo."
HTML clipboard'RING RING it's coming little monsters,' Gaga tweeted on Thursday about
the premiere of 'Telephone' video with Beyonce.
Lady Gaga
took to her
Twitter account on Thursday (March 4) to tease her fans about the
forthcoming release of her hotly anticipated "Telephone" music video
with
Beyoncé. Although there have been many rumors about exactly when
the video might premiere, Gaga simply said it's on its way. She tweeted
earlier this week that the clip was still being edited and she wants it
to be "perfect."
She tweeted "RING RING its coming little monsters" along with a link to
a photo of her in a prison-like room, wearing nothing more than crime-scene
tape placed in all the right places and some deep, red lipstick.
She also tweeted the good news about the song itself, which is Gaga's
latest #1 hi:. "LITTLE MONSTERS!! Today is an exciting day. Telephone
become our SIXTH NUMBER 1 RECORD IN A ROW IN AMERICA! I love you so much!
Celebrate!"
The photo's prison setting would work with the rumored storyline for
the video. Reportedly Beyoncé, who is featured on the track, breaks Gaga
out of prison for what is expected to be a Tarantino-inspired clip that
even features the truck that Uma Thurman's Bride drove in Quentin
Tarantino's "Kill Bill."
While fellow video co-stars Semi Precious Weapons have described the
chemistry between Beyoncé and Gaga as "magical"; B herself said the
ladies got "crazy" on the California set of the Jonas Akerlund-directed
clip.
Gaga, who appears in the video in a number of characteristic get-ups
(including phones on her head), shared that the video picks up where "Paparazzi"
left off. "What I like about it is it's a real true pop event," she said.
"And when I was younger, I was always excited when there was a big giant
event happening in pop music and that's what I wanted this to be."

Four hearts will be broken on "American Idol" on Thursday night (March 4). The only question is: Which two boys and girls will be the recipients of the bad news? We asked a couple of "Idol" experts to make their predictions on who deserves to go home.
"Tim Urban, he's a cute kid, but he's got no singing chops or stage presence," MJ Santilli, webmaster of "Idol" fan site MJsBigBlog.com, said about the floppy-haired singer who has miraculously stayed in the competition after getting a last-minute call-up due to Chris Golightly's disqualification. "But after Simon's praise, he's staying put for at least another week."
In that case, Santilli's other choice was cranky soul man Jermaine Sellers, who seemed to annoy the judges with his attitude and a slightly unhinged cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On." "Not only was his oversinging horrendous," she said, "but he's super unlikable. Dude, God is not getting you to the next round. ... Plus, his hair is stupid."
On the ladies' side, Santilli said it was time to say sayonara to bubbly teen Haeley Vaughn, whose dreams of country/pop stardom crashed and burned with Wednesday night's painful cover of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb." "Haeley has an adorable personality and a great spirit, but it's become very clear that she's in over her head," Santilli said. "I don't want to hear any more of her caterwauling, thank you."
Also worthy of booting? Fellow teen Katie Stevens, who just can't seem to find her musical personality onstage. "She's a boring pageant-bot, and there are similar yet better singers amongst the remaining girls," Santilli said.
MTV's own "Idol" obsessive Jim Cantiello disagreed somewhat about which females should be shown the door. "Given that she was my early audition-round fave, it pains me to say that Lacey Brown deserves to head home," he said of the 24-year-old antique-refurbishing nut who took the judges' advice but still put up a fail with an uneven cover of Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me." "She hasn't figured out how to showcase her strange, interesting voice the way Lilly Scott has. Plus, this season there's no shortage of squeaky-voiced quirkettes."
Also on Cantiello's chopping block is seemingly sweet but a bit dull Michelle Delamor. "[She] should probably pack her things too," he said of the children's choir director who took a shot with a smoothed-out R&B cover of Creed's "With Arms Wide Open." "I give her credit for going out on a limb with that Creed song, but she didn't nail the vocals. For such a crazy song choice, you'd think it'd be memorable, but it just wasn't."

When Kid Cudi performs with Wale and the go-go group UCB, the VMA house band, at Sunday's awards show, he will take some time out to remember 2008 house-band member DJ AM, who died unexpectedly last month. "DJ AM was a good homie of mine, so we're going to do a little something for him," the VMA-nominated rapper told MTV News. "We doing this for AM. He had so much love." For Cudi's time at the Video Music Awards, he plans to make sure his party is all about AM. "We're going to be celebrating his life," he said. "You know what I mean? It's going to be a great night, and I don't know about everybody else, but I'm celebrating the VMAs in memory of Adam Goldstein." Wale spoke to MTV News after AM's death about picking up where Travis Barker and DJ AM left off last year. "AM was one of the greatest DJs I've ever seen play," he said. "Him and Travis had such a chemistry. [AM was] definitely one of the greater ears in music, and he's definitely underrated [as a DJ]." Wale and UCB will also be joined by Solange Knowles, Pitbull and 3OH!3 for a series of originals and covers that will definitely keep the VMA crowd rocking all night. If Wale's VMA rehearsal Thursday was any indication, those covers could include songs by Britney Spears, Coldplay and Kings of Leon.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Contrary
to an online report, Jason Biggs has not been attacked by a Gibraltar
ape while on vacation on the island, his rep told Access Hollywood. “Jason’s in LA, had a meeting yesterday with his agents,” the rep told Access. “Not everything on the Internet is true.” Earlier on Thursday, the UK’s Telegraph
reported that the star had gone sightseeing in Gibraltar, only to find
himself face-to-face with a Barbary macaque that “tried to bite his
face off.” There are reportedly some 200 “Barbary apes” in Gibraltar –
a species native to North Africa and brought to the British territory
by soldiers in the 18th century.

BUCHAREST, Romania - At first, fans politely applauded the Roma performers sharing a stage with Madonna. Then the pop star condemned widespread discrimination against Roma, or Gypsies — and the cheers gave way to jeers. The sharp mood change that swept the crowd of 60,000, who had packed a park for Wednesday night's concert, underscores how prejudice against Gypsies remains deeply entrenched across Eastern Europe. Despite long-standing efforts to stamp out rampant bias, human rights advocates say Roma probably suffer more humiliation and endure more discrimination than any other people group on the continent.
